Respite Care
Respite care is a chance for the parents to take a temporary breather, often times for no fee. With respite care, a trained respite worker will come to and stay in the home with the individual with autism while the parents go run errands or just take a much needed "night out". Depending on how many hours the individual is alotted through funding, it can be for a few hours, a night, or a few days. Other options for respite care include taking the individual with autism to a respite group/residential home or to a camp where the respite worker attendsalong side.
